IMG_5225Had a cracking day yesterday at Mill Studios in Alnwick with Bethany, our youngest. She’s always been into music and singing and performs a lot throughout the school year and in fact has been accepted to Teesside University to study Performing Arts.

It was her 18th Birthday in June and as a present we booked her a day in the studio to record some tracks, it wasn’t a serious day recording the same track over and over again, it was more for the learning curve and to have some fun.

She recorded 4 tracks that she likes to sing, started off a bit nervous and wasn’t letting it go and belting it out as she usually does. After a couple of hours, and some coaxing and advice from Mr Ally Lee at the decks, she was relaxing a bit and she got the 4 tracks done, I reckon if we’d kept going she’d have nailed them all by the end of the day, although that’s a slippery slope of “I can do it better, I’ll do it again”

Although with my “dad’s ears” I know she can belt them out better than she did, cos she does when we’re trying to watch telly ;-), I’m still over the moon with what we came away with. The 4 tracks recorded are:

  • Landslide: The Dixie Chicks version as this is one of her favourites
