I did it, finally! I hit 100 miles for the month (105.3 to be exact), left it a bit late but just managed to get them in before the deadline. Headed out for my usual ride but when I got to Cresswell instead of turning up towards Ellington I decided it wasn’t beating me and I headed straight on. Got all the way round to Pegswood at only 16miles so didn’t think I’d hit the required 21 by the time I got home, thought it would be about 20, so when I hit Ashington I made a slight detour and went down by the river and came home that way. The path along the river is not made for touring bikes, maybe ok on a mountain bike but I felt like it was going to shake out my fillings and I lost a lot of speed, was averaging 15mph when I got there and ended up at only 13.6 when I finished, ah well, I’ll know for next time. Oh and a wrong turn saw me having to push my bike up the hill under the bridge on the spine road to get onto the cycle path as I lost the proper path. But it was a good ride, enjoyed it :-D
