Took advantage of a sunny morning to pack a picnic and head out for a cycle and an early lunch, planning on making the most of the pleasant weather. Was a great start to the day and there was a bit of heat in the sun, we stopped off just before Cresswell for a pitstop and a quick cuppa before carrying on just past Cresswell, where we found a picnic table to have lunch. As it was Bev’s first trip out in quite a while we decided after lunch to just turn around and head back home. That made it a nice 12 mile round trip, which was more about the enjoyment and not the pain so was a nice steady speed, averaging 8mph.

This is hopefully the beginning of our Sunday cycles, we’re looking for a carrier to fit on our car (without much success) so we can head off to different areas to cycle. Kielder being one of the areas, we want to do the Lakeside route, all 26miles of it (obviously with picnic etc.).
