What A Weekend
I had intended blogging my weekend away while I was actually away but the WordPress app on my iPhone decided to play up and not let me access my blog and I’ve just now got round to adding this post :)
The Saturday was a good day, we went off to Scarborough in the morning, had a wander round the sea front and the shops (of course). Saw some fantastic sand sculptures being made on the beach, here’s our favourite.
We had a walk around Peasholm Park, which is lovely with the lake, the waterfalls, the wildlife and different types of boating available from row boats to pedal boats. I was weird watching the boats go round the lake as all the ducks and geese followed wherever they went.
After spending the morning in Scarborough we headed back to the site as the kids wanted to go swimming, fantastic, they went swimming we hit the bar, great having older kids. :D Back to the caravan after that to get ready for the big night in front of the big screen for the England game, less said about that the better. I’ll just say we got there at 6pm thinking we’d be early but the bar was already packed and we got what seemed to be the last table, right at the back next to the bar but the other side of the room to the screen. We watched the match then a comedy (maybe) act, sorry can’t remember who they were, they were forgettable. Was either the fact they were really bad or the downer from the match :D
Sunday we headed off in the other direction, into Bridlington, there’s a lot of work going on there at the moment and it was hard to find where to go, finally found the sea front and got a prime parking spot right by the prom. We had breakfast in Bridlington and walked along the prom, major renovations happening and it will look stunning once finished.
Headed back to the site at lunchtime for swimming and bar propping, then just relaxed, reading and listening to music :) Headed out to the bar in the evening to watch a show by the Funstars, sadly as it was out of the main season the Showbar wasnt open so we had to put up with the kids games/showtime, thought we’d got past that with ours being older :)
Monday morning was a quick car pack and head off by 7:30am so we could ge back to Ashington for Nathan as he had a GCSE exam at 1:15pm, made it with plenty to spare :)
An excellent weekend and Primrose Valley was even better than it was last time we were there, which was 1994 not long after Nathan was born, and we will certainly be going back.

I saw some great sand sculptures a few years back when I was down in Brighton to go to a Doctor Who exhibition.
God those ducks do look stupid following the boats around…I could watch them doing that all day :-D
Oh, and I always knew you were weird…was just waiting for you to admit it ;-)
